Kpop: Yoon Jong Shin (윤종신)

It's hard to miss the longboarder theme in singer/songwriter Yoon Jong Shin's video "Empty City", the girl being Juae Lee. The song is part of a series of songs made in 2016, one for each month, this being my absolute favorite (so far).

Kpop: Primary (프라이머리)

There is no denying artist and music producer Primary is talented, but it has been a while since I heard a song that had the balance of rhythmic soulpop and hip hop (ie less of the latter), namely "See Through" back in 2012. This year has seen him releasing a steady stream of very slick and interesting videos, all with great guest artists making them musically vibrant, but it is the latest "Hello" with Lena Park as has struck closest to my heart.

Kpop: Zion T (자이언티)

Even though quite popular in kpop, and often featuring in other's songs, I haven't felt Zion T has made songs in my taste. It is mostly about the texts being to important for this style of music, and its not the same reading them as understanding them as he sing. The new "Miss Kim" got something special, though, that reminds me somewhat of Sting or the likes, and it is a bit fascinating. It is supposed to be in the classic trot style, but I don't care. ;-) Check out "Babay" and "Two melodies" for some more "contemporary" material.

Kpop: Seo In Young - Love Me (나를 사랑해줘)

I like how Seo In Young has her own style that is a mixture of asian and western pop culture, where she has been moving towards a more international pop/rock singer style the last two years. I cant say her songs are special in any ways, thay are just nice and sympathetic somehow.
