Mandopop: Jeffrey G (Ji Jie/吉杰)

Jeffrey G, or Jí jié as his name is, was a runner up in the 2007 Chinese Idol competition Super Boy. AT first, the video "It Hurts But It Feels Right" is so fun it must be seen as it makes fun of S&M by showing of his normal but untrained body as the center of attraction. And the song actually fits it rather well. But after that, I find his oddball songs and videos a little fascinating. Heart Stealer shows off another thing he does, mixing in ethnic sounds. "Burn" and "Lost Love" shows of his soulful voice and sound, while "Swing it 70s" and "Time" is more of the odd/alternative stuff.

Kpop: N-Sonic

N-Sonic is back with a new member setup for a new go at fame and fortune. And, yes, the songs second part reminds me of TVXQ's Catch Me, but the question is whether they will catch enough fans with this new effort? I think its OK, but they need more songs (and not two year breaks) to make a lasting impression, I think. I also have the feeling they may be trying "too" hard to be cool, if you watch their two songs?
