Jpop: Daoko - Moshimo Bokura ga GAME no Shuyakude (もしも僕らがGAMEの主役で)

This new video is the second one from Daoko's triple-single being released this coming week, with "Bang!" preceeding it. While Bang! had a clapping thing going, in "Moshimo Bokura ga GAME no Shuyakude", the theme is obviously retro computer gaming, and what fun it is! That said, I like her singing too, and the production by Oresama's Hideya Koijima is great.

Jpop: Suiyoubi no Campanella - Diablo (ディアブロ)

While the progressive japanese trio Suiyoubi no Campanella took their music to a slightly new area with their recent "Napoleon", the new video "Diablo" is slightly more conventional musically. But the video, oh, the video! I think I have never seen so many and diverse cultural references in a Japanese music video. From the naive pink monkeys to the burlesque acting from singer Koumai, computer game parody to old style wood block paintings, it is all depicted in a furious tempo and mixture. I just love it!

Mandopop: Jolin Tsai - Play (I Don't Give A / 我呸)

After the pre-release "Phony", Jolin Tsai releases the first 'real' single from her new album, the 13th. The song is "Play" and again is computer-game themed. Think "The Sims" or something like that, and she works the theme with her usual charm and the EDM sound is quite in my taste too.
