Kpop: Nu'est - Overcome (여왕의 기사)

The 4th album is coming up for the boys of Nu'est, and beyond a nice track and suitably dramatic video, again I think Ren is in focus for his femine looks. For me he looks like some of the idealised knight images from the romantic era in art, and very much suitable in this setting. At the point of the woman (a Pledis trainee btw) being introduced in the video, I feel a reading of the video as a part of a transgender debate wouldn't be fully wrong, somehow.

Mandopop: Sophia Wang (王思佳)

Model and actress, Sophia Wang from Taiwan debuted last year as a singer at the age of 32 with the video "Bababa". For me, it is with the new "No 1" that I for the first time find her rise above the average as the video is a passable fun dance piece.

Kpop: Park Ji Yoon - Inner Space (나의 뇌구조)

In my opinion maybe the most beautiful singer of kpop, 32 year old Park Ji Yoon, treats us with a look into her "Inner Space" in her latest video, filled with memorabilia both expected and strange.

Mandopop: Karen Mok (莫文蔚)

Karen Mok from Hong Kong is a charming actress and singer born in 1970 who still charms and enchants with her sensual voice in english and mandarin, jazz being her forte. Her latest video, The Face That Launched A Thousand Ships from last winter just shows again that good singers can become better (and more beautiful) with age.
