Jpop: lol (エルオーエル)

Well I just have to share this rather fun video "spank!!" from Japanese five member group 'lol'. It is a bit fascinating with the combination of auto-tune and a lowrider suspension car, but somehow it works. But what's with the bondage name? Or do they actually mean something else when they say "spank you up"? But then their last video was called "laid dadi" so that may imply the names aren't that important... ;-P

• lol - spank!!
• lol - ladi dadi
• lol - fire!
• lol - shake shake

Jpop: Vanilla Beans (バニラビーンズ)

To be honest, in general, in general I don't like the kind of bland retroesque style that Risa and Rena in Vanilla Beans are a part of, but their latest video (after the switch from their indie label to Avex) is so good that I have to admit to watching it now and then.

• Vanilla Beans - Onna wa Sore wo Gaman Shinai (女はそれを我慢しない)
• Vanilla Beans - Love & Hate
• Vanilla Beans - Cup no Fuchico kōshiki Song (コップのフチ子公式ソング)
• Vanilla Beans - Ecstatic Girls (有頂天ガール)
• Vanilla Beans - Vi er røde, vi er hvide (バニラビーンズ, Yes, the Danish national anthem!)

Jpop: FEMM - Dead Wrong and Party All Night

FEMM keep releasing a ridiculous number of visually great videos, but while the first videos from earlier this summer/spring also had great tunes the last two releases "Party All Night" and "Dead Wrong" are not quite up to the same standard. But in this case it is somewhat like saying that the worst songs on a fantastic debut album wasn't quite as good - because normally they wouldn't even get a video, and even less this good. So cudos to Avex for doing this.

• FEMM - Party All Night
• FEMM - Dead Wrong

Jpop: Vivivid - Love2move

New girl trio Vivivid from Avex entertainment has their first video "Love2move" out. It is just right visually and the sound is edgy and fresh somehow. It actually reminds me of a lot of saucy girl(band)s (like Sahara Hotnights) that you would hear in Sweden. I am not exactly sure it's my personal cup of tea in the long run but it *is* nicely done modern pop.
