Kpop: Black Pink - Playing with fire (불장난)

Well then...my suggestion that Black Pink is the new 2NE1 is now surely confirmed. Their sound, the way their voices harmonize, and the aesthetics, even if not unique for 2NE1 by themselves, all together they point obviously in their direction. Now, this is not a bad thing, and I really love the way they are singing in the new "Playing with fire", the way they rap, it is just addictive.

Black Pink is yet another multi-national kpop band, and their debut singles Boombayah and Whistle has been really popular on YouTube, and I can see why because they got swag and nice production. For me they come off as a new 2NE1 when they was at their best and that comparison should be great, but here is the thing,I am talking about 2NE1 anno 2009! I wonder if kpop, and kpop listeners, seven years later has a spot for this. We will see.

Kpop: Skrillex ft Diplo, G-Dragon and CL - Bad Vibes

Released just before Christmas, this intensive track by American DJ's Skrillex and Diplo is very much of interest for kpop fans as the singers are non the less than kpop stars G-Dragon from Big Bang and CL (from 2NE1). The music may not be that enjoyable in the long run to listen to, but the video is an explosion of color and cool poses, as expected from this kind of cooperation.
