Kpop: Sunny Hill - Monday Blues

Finally! Is this the end of Sunny Hill's "boring" phase? I know that the ballads and touching songs they have released for some time now is liked by many, but for me they have been a step down from what they did at their renewal back in 2011 with "Midnight Circus" etc. The new "Monday Blues" isn't perfect in any sense, but it feels refreshing for Sunny Hill as they had this unique charm that I feel they have been downplaying with the more serious tone, but now is back.

Kpop: Narsha ft. Sunny Hill - Mamma Mia (맘마미아)

I really like Narsha's (of Brown Eyed Girls) odd "artistic" style and Sunny Hill's attitude, so their cooperation in the video Mamma Mia felt wholly natural, and it was a kick-off for Sunny Hills edgier style.

Kpop: History (히스토리)

Rookie group History debuts with song Dreamer supported by none other than Son Dam Bi acting the video, Sunny Hill's Misung writing the rap *and* IU as a narrator, which of course helps. The video and song then? Well...it does what it has to do to introduce the group, but maybe not much more. The jury is still out, until the next single, I would say.
update: Ok, the "jury" has seen three more singles, and after the newest, Psycho, I must say I think History has potential. Not the best but just below the top level.

Kpop: Sunny Hill and Daybreak - Love Actually

Love Actully is really sweet in the combined remake effort of Sunny Hill and Dybreak, but the greatest thing is the funny video that kids with stereotypes in a kind of laid back and ironic way.

Sunny Hill är ett väldigt bra exempel på hur grupper kan omformas i kpop:ens värld. Om det inte stämmer så kan medlemmar bytas, namn ändras och hela musikstilen ändras. Från att ha varit en ganska mähig grupp fick de en skarp och spretig, nästan svår stil, med ett helt annat anslag. Och såå mycket mer spännande. Jag brukar länka videor utan långa intron, som ofta koreanerna gillar ha, men här har jag behållit dem både för Midnight Circus och The Grasshopper song, de är värda att se åtminstone en gång. Det här är i min åsikt en av de mest unika grupperna från Sydkorea, som har en helt egen stil.

Update: The latest single is Goodbye to romance. I Usually dont that much care for ballads, but since its a nice video and from Sunny Hill, I will make an exception.
