Kpop: IU - Twenty-three (스물셋)

When I saw this video I could almost cry from relief - gone is the experimental, cutesy and/or pretentious shit and finally we get to know the rhytmic and now more mature IU. The number one Korean sweetheart and her company has realised they have to deliver something that is actually good pop music and damn does this video work well delivering just that. Sexy lyrics, visuals (oh that Alice in Wonderland theme) and -yes- IU herself finally got some sex appeal going that isn't sub-20s-flirty.

Rookie group History debuts with song Dreamer supported by none other than Son Dam Bi acting the video, Sunny Hill's Misung writing the rap *and* IU as a narrator, which of course helps. The video and song then? Well...it does what it has to do to introduce the group, but maybe not much more. The jury is still out, until the next single, I would say.
update: Ok, the "jury" has seen three more singles, and after the newest, Psycho, I must say I think History has potential. Not the best but just below the top level.

Kpop: IU (아이유)

IU's real name is Lee Ji-Eun, and she have had a status of being Koreas lovable "next-door girl", but I have a feeling it is reaching its end soon, both from what is happening "On stage" and "off stage". Which is about time, I'd say, it must be pretty boring.

Kpop: Fiestar (피에스타)

Gruppen Fiestar debuterade i år med ett "sommarsamarbete" med IU, för att sedan under hösten ha kommit med Vista och nu senast We don't stop. Dessutom har vi det i mina ögon lite småknäppa samarbetet 'Wicked' med Tiger JK. Namnet kommer från ordet Fiesta, dvs festival, som ska ge energi till sina lyssnare.
update: With the new "One More" the concept has changed for a more sexy look, which per se is the natural "development arc" for a typical kpop group.
