Kpop: BTS - Fire & I Need U

Well, I am catching up on my kpop boy band deficiency, and what better than to write again about BTS as they released two excellent songs this last week. "Fire" has their usual attitude intensive (over...)posturing but the song delivers so it is well and OK, but my favorite is the more sober "I need U", a ballad that touches my heart (wonders of all wonders).

Kpop: Gfriend (여자친구)

I have seen Gfriend some singles but it was with "Rough" (a kind of ironic name) that it clikced - they are really noticable for looking "innocent" and cute, and even discounting the many groups going for a sexy image nowadays, that is quite a feat in kpop. The music isn't really much to write home about, this is all about fan service for the same guys and girls who loves certain kinds of manga and anime (which I honestly don't). It feels a bit to regressive, but I believe Gfriend have a large number of potential fans so go for it.

Ukrainian pop: Kazaky - Milk-Choc

Kazaky, the Ukrainian danc/pop group with obvoius gay undertones did another excellent music video last summer, this one on the 80s theme, and it was obvious how well their stylized look and sound suited this.

Kpop: Got7

Got7 is an "international" male kpop idol group as it was put together with members from several countries (obviously with the idea to attract more fans) and their videos has been quite popular. I find myself still not feeling they have delivered anything worthwhile, but the new "If You Do" is promising. It has a little more focus and nice melody than the older tracks.
