Mandopop: Ma Ning (馬寧)

Ma Ning has an obvious penchant for the opulent and showfullness, and his new "Anyway, it's all me" confirms this. It is all has a slight drag queen show over it, and none the less fascinating to watch.

Ukrainian pop: Kazaky - Milk-Choc

Kazaky, the Ukrainian danc/pop group with obvoius gay undertones did another excellent music video last summer, this one on the 80s theme, and it was obvious how well their stylized look and sound suited this.

Mandopop: Jolin Tsai - We're all different, Yet all the same (不一樣又怎樣)

With the 4th song and video from her latest album, Taiwanese pop star Jolin tsai yet again explores the theme of homosexuality. She has dealt with the subject funnily in Dr Jolin and like a "Fantasy", but with "We're all different, Yet all the same", she takes yet another important step by showing explicitly a female couple marrying and kissing (she and Ruby Lin), and I she is really deserves praise for this. Great videos, great songs and a great message about love - Jolin Tsai comes at the top in my book of asian artists.

Ukrainian pop: Kazaky

What probably strikes you when watching one of the videos of the ukrainian electropop group Kazaky is of course their looks and dancing which very obviously connects to gay-culture, something which they seems to do fantastically and they has gathered fame from this (among other things, featuring prominently in one of Britney Spear's videos...). Watch their funny parody of airport control intimacy or their high heels in "Love". I suggest you start with "Touch Me" and then watch the new "Strange Moves".

Mandopop: Jolin Tsai - Fantasy (迷幻)

With songs as Fantasy and Dr Jolin, Jolin Tsai was praised by (especially asian) homosexual communities for her support. This may not seem much in most parts of the west, but it in Asia it is a more bold step to be this open and supportive. She is my favorite Mandopop singer and this only adds more to my appreciation of her.
