Kpop: We are the night (위아더나잇)

The first image is from "You Are In", the rest from "BRother"
We are the night is the project band of punk/rock/pop band Rocket Diary, and here they have a more electronic sound with the voice of singer Ham Byung Sun being so central to the sound as to almost becoming to dominant, but if one goes back beyond this years releases, there is a more synth focused sound that makes a one-group-playlist all more viable.

Jpop: Hajimetal (ハジメタル)

Hajimetal had Kaneko Rie from Ladybaby singing on his track "Giri Gal" before their career took of this spring, but he has several other odd and lovely songs to enjoy. He is really inventive and loves mixing the serene with the somewhat course (which betrays his punk background with Midori).

Kpop: Sugardonut (슈가도넛)

Sugardonut was a 00's korean punk band that kind of stopped their activities for a couple of years after 2010 to then make a come back with less energetic but at least as interesting sounds with the albums Double Minus in 2014 and Polyverse last year. The new album is "Third of April" headed by the excellent single "Imagine, Close Your Eyes".

Jpop: exist†trace - Dream Rider (イグズィストトレイス)

Next week japanese group exist†trace releases their 6th album "This Is Now" and from that we get the single "Dream Rider" which is another song with the "softer" sound they have gravitated towards. I like their energy and this track is not far behind their "Spiral Daisakusen" from last spring.

Jpop: 0.8Syooogeki (0.8秒と衝撃)

0.8秒と衝撃 means '0.8 seconds and a crash" and the japanese duo consisting of Tadaomi Toyama and J.M. for sure likes music with a bit of wild in it. Their videos are a feast of joyfulness and carefree energy with a musical edge.

Jpop/rock: Molice

The trio Molice from Japan draw their inspiration from various rock/punk sources in the 70s/80s/90s in their own unique combination that sometimes makes me like it even though this kind of noise-intensive usually is to much for me nowadays (I always've loved metal, not the more punk/jumpy sort of guitar-based music).

Jpop: exist†trace

An all-female Visual Kei band from Japan, Exist Trace have been going "soft" the last few years which may make some fans mad, but its just part of a natural evolution for a musician and in ET:s case it is also a question of wanting to experiment. As they have been going on since 2003 it's just healty to change. I like the new "Great Spiral Battle/Spiral Daisakusen" and its balance of melodic and a little punkpop feeling.

Thai pop: Gene Kasidit

Backpacker, thai punk front man, transsexual dresser and singer, Gene Kasidit is one facinating man regardless how you put it. I focus on his solo work here, but his part in Futon is ofc interesting.
