Kpop: SF9 (에스에프나인)

The boys of kpop boy band SF9 debuted in 2016 but the song "O Sole Mio" from their latest album "Knights of the Sun" is the first really good video from them, it's hit material for sure. It has a kind of scifi theme going for it to, which works fine too.

Jpop: Sakanaction - Maybe, Wind (多分、風)

How it is possible, I don't know, but I managed to miss out on this early winter single from Sakanaction, the Japanese synth band that has over the years given me the most musical enjoyment (forgive me, Perfume, but that's the truth). Their bittersweet but still soft sound is healing for the soul, and this song is no exception. And, oh, the video is just so great too!

Kpop: Momoland (모모랜드)

Momoland is one of the debuts last autumn that I was a bit hard on, as their video and song is actually of good quality. The name of the song I think is onomatopoeic for "crash!, boom!, bang!" which is what they sing about - a love that comes suddenly. The video is really what attracted me and the song works fine too.

Mangopop: Khalil Fong - Journey To The West

Image 1 and 4 are from "HBDD", the other three from "All Night"

Everything Khalil Fong touches gets that eternal kind off quality classy feel, so very smooth and soft. These five videos are from his last year's album "Journey to the West", and you can pick and choose whichever you like the most, they all have their own personal and superb sound.

Kpop: Gavy NJ - An Obvious Melo & Hello

Image two above and the first below is from "An Obvious Melo", the rest from "Hello"

I have a weak spot for the ladies with the sultry voices in korean trio Gavy NJ. I loved "Hello" and the new "An Obvious Melo" is pretty good too. It's really not inventive at all but oh such a guilty pleasure.

Jpop: Sayuri (さユり)

All the images are from "Crescent Moon"
It is hard to define 20 year old Sayuri's music without talking about her presense and charisma, she really gives the impression of being 110% into what she sings without just screaming it out, with the videos so far doing a great job of showing this. The style of mixing anime and real footage is also a aestetically pleasing choice.

Mandopop: 831 - Roll Your Eyes (翻白眼)

Rockers 831 from Taiwan gives another super fun video where we get to see all the bad stuff that can happen when people just walk around without caring about people around them. A great laugh.
