Kpop: Super Junior - Magic

Let's be honest - the guys of korean star group Super Junior have already passed 30 and by all conventional means in this genre they are on their way out. The video's theme of all the guys chasing one girl is quite the cliche especially in kpop. And *still* it is so charming. Let's give them a applause for what they are and have been.

Kpop: Top 10 of the last quarter of 2014

VIXX managed deliver a second great song this quarter, quite impressive.

10. High4 - Headache. I just loved the sounds in this song, and the boys are really charming in the video, too. ;-)

9. Badkiz - Babomba. I actually like this video quite much, but listening to it on audio only can become a bit too much.

8. WIMP - Somewhere far. A fun song from this electrinc duo.

7. Wym - Trying. A soft and light electronic gem.

6. Super Junior - This is love. A classic kind of sound, and just what SJ needed.

5. Boyfriend - Witch. The vampire theme with a the boys being hunted (down) is great fun and suits the song.

4. IU & Seo Taiji - Sogyeokdon. I'm actually not a big fan of the no 1 kpop darling IU, but this song really suits her.

3. Laboum - What about you? On the surface is this a really mainstream and standard kpop song, but the fun sound in the start and the perfect sweet sound makes this second song from rookies Laboum one this years surprises.

2. Pungdeng-E - Cabbage Bossam. This is my kind of humor and with a really catchy melody, a sure hit in my world.

1. Vixx - Error. The second great song from VIXX this year, the name is quite the opposite of what it is - a perfectly pitched kpop drama.

Kpop: Super Junior - This is Love

Although many fans of Super Junior where quite happy with the return song "Mamacita" in August, I felt that beyond the fun theme and basic likability, the song wasn't anything special. To be honest the new "This is love" isn't more creative in any sense, but simply stated, its just more likable. The color schema of greay and dark red works well too. It could be called a (somewhat) stylish video.

Kpop: Super Junior - Mamacita (아야야)

Here it is, the come back for Super Junior. "Mamacita" is half a fun western drama with the guys taking on a range of cliche roles and half a passionate dance-in-a-box in warm colors. The song is neither here or there, but for the elf's (SJ fan club members) I am guessing it is more than enough.

Mandopop: Han Geng (韓庚)

Ex-Junior member Han Geng left famous kpop group Super Junior after a lawsuit, and has then pursued a solo career and is now signed to Warner Music Taiwan. The most memorable is his video for the song "Wild Cursive", with its fighting scenes worthy of a top action movie.

Kpop: Henry (헨리)

A member of Super Junior, his debut as a solo artist with "Trap" was not bad at all, but meh, I wasn't interested in it at the time. But as the new "Fantastic" is (if not fantastic) quite good too, he needs to be get his own post now. While Trap was easy to like (or dislike), Fantastic is the kind of hit that is great when you are focused but at the same time can hang on to a thread to keep the red thread of attention going. He almost loses me at the break at 3:40, but all-in-all a good song with a visually nice theme with the violin.

Kpop/Jpop: Donghae & Eunhyuk - I wanna dance

D & E from Super Junior is back with another happy uptempo track for the Japanese fans, and it's another tasty treat. Enjoy, and dont miss out on "Oppa Oppa"!
