Kpop: Taeyeon (태연)

One of the more successful solo artist of Girl's Generation fame, Taeyeon's songs so far still hasn't really stuck to me, which is starnge as several has great and vibrant soundscapes. So it comes a bit of  a suprise that this darker song makes me more interested.

Kpop: 4Ten (포텐)

I still think their Go Easy from last summer is their best song so far, but with the addition of a 4th video, "Severely", I also think that 4Ten in total deserves lifting as they are now beginning to establish themselves as they go into their third year as group. The only thing I don't understand is why the sound quality is so bad?

Kpop/Indie: Thornapple

Wonderful "Strange Weather" is a perfect indie rock song from Thornapple, a korean band that I really have high expectations from after the latest song. Hopefully they have the military service done now and can continue with their music.

Kpop: MBLAQ (엠블랙)

Korean pop groups really like their acronyms, and sometimes there is a small story hidden in a seemingly obvious name (because BEAST and UKISS could of course not just mean what it says...), but with MBLAQ the acronym is quite meaningless in itself. What does it mean? Well: "Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality" of course. ｡◕‿◕｡   On a sidenote, they are also often mentioned whan talking about the sexiest boy bands in kpop. Judge yourself.

Kpop: 4 minute (포미닛)

4minute 2012 hit 'Volume up' was one of my favorites that year, but they have many other great songs in their back catalog. With Hyun-a's solo carieer going skywards (especially internationally with her featuring in PSY's world hit Gangnam style), 4minute is in no danger of disappering from the kpop scene soon, I hope.
