Kpop: Gavy NJ - An Obvious Melo & Hello

I have a weak spot for the ladies with the sultry voices in korean trio Gavy NJ. I loved "Hello" and the new "An Obvious Melo" is pretty good too. It's really not inventive at all but oh such a guilty pleasure.

Kpop: Primary (프라이머리)

There is no denying artist and music producer Primary is talented, but it has been a while since I heard a song that had the balance of rhythmic soulpop and hip hop (ie less of the latter), namely "See Through" back in 2012. This year has seen him releasing a steady stream of very slick and interesting videos, all with great guest artists making them musically vibrant, but it is the latest "Hello" with Lena Park as has struck closest to my heart.

Jpop: Capsule (カプセル)

I have finally come round to the man behind the music of a number of Japanese acts like Perfume, Ami Suzuki and Kyaru Pamyu Pamyu, and his "own" band Capsule which he has together with singer Toshiko Koshijima. The one I am speaking of is Yasutaka Nakata and I am glad he and Capsule finally has released a video, World of Fantasy, that actually feels more "real". More of that, please. My personal favorite is "I'm feeling you".

Kpop: Nu'est - Hello

Nu'est returns with new single "Hello", a quite mature video.

Kpop boyband Nu'est, whose acronym comes from the rather unwieldy "New Established Style and Tempo" (yes, typical kpop nerdiness...), consists of members starting of as backup dancers, a rather common phenomena in pop music in other parts of the world too.
