Kpop: Song Ji Eun (송지은)

The main vocalist SOng Ji Eun from Secret has released the video "False Hope", which is a luxurious eye-candy. The song is well-designed but nothing beyond the ordinary for this kind of artist, but the video is, like Kara's latest number, just plain kpop gold to watch and enjoy for the moments it last. The theme is playing with and challenging the idea of her vulnarability in an obvious, but still sensual way.

Kpop: Lee Hyori - Going Crazy

Well, it is kind of an all-or-nothing thing with Lee Hyori's latest album, as the retro concept of the songs and videos makes for a less automatically easy accessible concept than most kpop aims for. With the fourth video in a short while, this time she almost plays against herself as she plays both her charming self but also a man, and she does it quite well too. The video is again slick, tight and just so pro, that if this this album doesn't sell, it isn't from lack of trying from her and her company.

Kpop: Kan Mi Yeon (간미연)

Kam Mi Yeon together with Orange Caramel was what brought me into kpop, and so I will repost this from my last blog as I feel something is missing here otherwise. Anyway, she was the lead singer for Baby VOX  (more of them another time) and then had a solo career which even though it lastet several years didnt give us that many song, but oh so great they are. They are still my favorite songs and I keep coming back to them when I get fed up with some of the newer songs. I also sooo much like it how they have a theme in the three first videos below where Kan Mi Yeon is cast as a stalker or nutter in all of them. Talk about adding extra value and fun. More of this, please, more humor.

Kpop: X-5 (엑스파이브)

The tall guys in X-5 average over 1,80 cm, but their music isn't bad either. Their future seems uncertain to say the least, due to contract issues and so on, meaning most probably the videos and songs below is all there was from them. Too bad, I say.
