Kpop: VIXX - The Closer

VIXX has always had dramatic and choreographed videos, but I felt their "Fantasy" from earlier this fall went to far and made them become to unmelodic. With the newer "The Closer" they have found the right balance again. The special effects are rather advanced in it, with time being frozen for half of the scenes.

Kpop: Fei(페이)

With Jia just having left miss A, the solo debut of Fei is interesting from several aspects as it may contain signs of what is to become of miss A. After seeing the excellent and modern track 'Fantasy', I can't say anything else than that it feels safe to say everything will be alright if it is good music you are after. Whatever happens to miss A, will happen, so let's just enjoy this virtual reality - themed video.

Jpop: Wagakki Band - Strong Fate

Wagakki Band don't just revel in historical/fantasy Japanese culture in their looks and videos, they really own the concept as they combine rock guitars and drums with classical japanese instruments to deliver music that is distinctly theirs. That said, their videos is really worth watching in themselves, the music and Yuuko's song acting as a perfect companion to the visual drama.

Kpop/Jpop: Taemin - Sayonara Hitori (さよならひとり)

After his successful full album debut this winter, Taemin of kpop stars SHINee makes his Japanese debut with the impressively fantasy-kitchy video "Sayonara Hitori". The lyrics by Sakurai Sara are open to interpretation but they seem to slightly melancholy about leaving each other but hoping to meet again. Perfectly Japanese in other words. I can't help but like the whole sweet thing anyway.

Kpop: Jinbo (진보)

Jinbo is supposedly a rapper but I find it is better to describe his kpop as belonging to the R&B bracket, with nice samples and electronica added for good taste.

Kpop fantasy musical: School OZ

If the "One Day One Chance" video released in connection to the School OZ musical is any indication, the SM Town hologram meets movie meets kpop musical is a fantastic thing to see for a fan of kpop and fantasy. The music video is a pure eye-feast for a nerd like me anyways! It stars members from EXO, TVXQ, SHINee, Red Velvet and f(x). Enjoy!
