Jpop: Urbangarde - Kuchibiru Democracy (くちびるデモクラシー)

The japanese avantgarde group Urbangarde returns with a video abot war and democracy, with red and black as dominant colors. This is the lead track for their upcoming album Showa 90 Nen, and this song has connections to that name as they in the song are implying that Japan is still stuck in the Showa period that lasted 1926 - 1989 but what they exactly mean is probably meant to be more ambigious. Musically I love the combined guitar and piano solo in the end.

I wrote about the funny people of alternative japanese trio Polysics two years ago mainly to share their very funny video "I Me My Mine" from 2005. Mostly the oddness is to great, but this new video is so fun I have to share it.

Kpop/indie: Ninano Nanda (니나노 난다)

Pansori is a traditional way of telling stories in Korea, with a vocalist and a drummer. Ninano Nanda is a duo trying to modernize this genre and I think they are doing something quite interesting and slightly hypnotic (or headache-inducing, depending of preferences).

Once more comes the schizophrenic sound from japanese Urbangarde to us, and this time Hamazaki Yōko plays with dangerous weapons underwater. A visual treat again, and somehow very charming.

The japanese duo Suiyoubi no Campanella (Komuai as singer and Hidefymi Kenmochi as instrumentalist) continues with their geeky style in the new "Kung Fu Lady". This time it is backwards filming that is the visual key.
