Russian pop: Iowa (Айова)

Iowa is actually a Belarusian band, but they are currently residing in St Petersburg. Band members are Ekaterina Ivanchikova, Leonid Tereschenko and Vasily Bulanov. The videos are usually quite nice, with Smile and The same being my favorites.

Russian pop: Polina Butorina (Полина Буторина)

12 year old Polina from Russia is a successful singer already, and even do she looks like a little know-it-all to me, "My Heart" works for me as it really has a story and is thought through, with a good end point.

Russian pop: Julia Savicheva (Юлия Савичева)

You may remember Julia from representing Russia in the ESC 2004 in Istanbul with "Believe Me", in what I can't say is especially pleasing to the ears. The new "Bride" is much better, a breezy no nonsense dance song of the kind russians do so well.

Russian pop: Bianca - Hands Feet (Ногами Руками)

Russian Bianca follows up on her hit "Alle Tanzen" with another stylish video. "Hands Feet" may not be as musically creative but it is well worth watching. And that spider, ouch...

Russian/Ukrainian pop: Olya Polyakova (Оля Полякова)

Olya Polyakova is somewhat of a playful Russian version of Lady Gaga, and her videos plays with Gangnam style, Russian kitch and (self)-ironic sexuality. It is fun and as a rule nice pop too, and I think it is the humor in combination with the Russian dialect and catchy refrains that does it.

Russian pop: Serebro (Серебро)

Serebro from Russia is a female trio that combines a very obvious play on their female sexuality with playfulness and some irony with great electro-pop uptempo tracks. Their Mama Luba is a great (and popular) example of this. (Actually some of the other videos may be NSFW, as they sometimes are rather explicit even if it is in a fun way.)
