Kpop/Jpop: After School - Heaven

Their latest japanese release, the PV of "Heaven" begins painfully trashy with After School reusing their pole dancing number from "First Love" in a very silly way and then it looks like they are workers at a red light district. But then I begin to notice the track. It is a soft disco song that grows steadily on you and in the end this song and video meshes so well (the detachedness of the song refining the thrashiness of the video to something meaningful) that it may prove to mark one of the most memorable songs of AS. And it is not often I hear a kpop act translate that well to the jpop scene, but AS has done it here.

Kpop: After School - First Love (첫사랑)

After School is back with "First Love" and they have obviously gone for the pole dancing concept to spice things up. Does it work? Hmm, well, I'm not so keen on explicit stuff like that, Sistar's latest song "Give it to me" is a good example on how to be attractive with finesse. Still, my three Orange Caramel favorites are there, so I will let it pass. And in fact, the song itself isn't that bad at all. ^_^
