Mandopop: Nine Chen (陳零九)

The Tawainese has something going with retro funk videos, I have seen a number of them (Da Mouth, Cosmos People, Dizzy Dizzo) which I really like, and Nine Chen gives another great video together with Puff Kuo from Dream Girls, where they square off in various sports (with Miss Kuo mostly winning by cheating it seems...).

Mandopop: Cosmos People - Hello Princess (你以為)

The song "I Hate You" from 2015 was one of my favorite mandopop songs of 2015, and Cosmos People have stayed true to their sound in "Hello Princess" which has the same kind of airy funky sound, music made for feeling all sunny on the inside. Funny observation: they use the cool OP-1 synth too!

Mandopop: Dizzy Dizzo (Dominique Choy/Cai/Tsai, 蔡詩芸)

Taiwanese-Australian singer Dominique Choy has made a good impression on me with her latest album "Bones/骨子裡". The song "Who loves who" establishes that kind of quiet but touching world in my mind that I just love visiting, and there are more of those kind of tracks if you like it.

Mandopop: Yuki Hsu (徐懷鈺)

Taiwanese singer Yuki made a comeback this year with the positive and sweet "Oh My!", but her life and career has been anything but that as she has been involved in processes involving contract breaches, sex harassment and at the same time being the main provider for her extended family.

Mandopop: One Two Free - Kiang

The ironic duo One Two Free from Taiwan has done several funny videos that at the same time has been quite sharp musically too, "Gym", "ABC" and "3D舞力全失" are my favorites. They have several funny commercials too under the belt, so it's obvious they have lots of skills under their belt.
The new "Kiang" (the largest wild ass in the world), is a rather coarse and wild take on partying, again with cool samples and beats.
