Jpop: BoA - Kiss My Lips

When THE queen of kpop, BoA, returned with "Who Are You" last week, I felt something like "aw, yes its good, but...why can't we have a new *real* hit?" I have found myself missing that extra "it" that for example "The Shadow" (2012), "Disturbance" (2013) or older hits had. And so we get "Kiss My Lips"! This is what BoA is all about - that soulful and unique voice

Kpop: BoA - Shout It Out

After listening to BoA's new japanese single "Shout It Out" -and watching the video- my thoughts and feelings was of relief. Because the video and the song may not be up there among her best, but somehow it feels lika a kind of step forward as I was getting the feeling she was on the retreat. The 90s retro style may not be the coolest choice in my eyes, but it works well, and the Queen of Kpop feels "alive" again, which I like. Even though I liked Disturbance and accepted the other song of lately, part of her charm was her dancing and energy, which "The Shadow" is the latest example of. So, more of this.

I just had to use this classic Star Wars scene to again express my feeling for the result of the result when the  winner was announced in Melodifestivalen, the competition when we chose our entry for the Euroivision Song Contest. In an almost Belarussian or Turkish need to optimize our chances tow in we let half of the votes be cast by juries from other European contries, which led to the popular favorite Yohio to lose to Robin Stjernberg.

"I feel a disturbance in the force"...well, yes I had to make that joke, since in BoA's latest single she actually doesnt dance. And its a ballad. How often does that happen? But since its the queen of kpop, whatever. She  still pulls it of with her personality and presence.

Kpop: BoA (권보아)

Kwon BoA is a relatively mature artist (in kpop) with her 26 years of age, and has a long carreer behind her since her debut only 13 years old. She is known under the acronym BoA or "The queen of kpop", and has sold 60+ million albums worldwide. She is one of the few kpop solo artist that hasn't been part of a band, she signs easily in japanese and english, and she is (mayby) most of all known for her dancing skills. She is somewhat Koreas answer to Kylie Minogue or Madonna.
Update: Latest single Disturbance. I usually dont like ballads, and ironically this is a video where BoA doesnt even dance. But, well, its *her* so I will let that slide...
