Jpop: Gesu no Kiwami Otome (ゲスの極み乙女)

I'm not sure if it's really correct to call  indigo la End's singer Enon Kawatani's creation of the group Gesu no Kiwami Otome a side project, as it seems to me it is as much a serious effort as his original group.
Often I find myself enjoying most songs sung in foreign languages regardless of if I understand the words or not as for me the melodies of every language is an unique instrument in itself. In the case of GKO's new song, Romansu ga ariamaru (ロマンスがありあまる / Romance is too much for me), I find myself feeling the need to share the lyrics as it very much makes the difference between a nice and an excellent song.

Jpop: Meiri Alaha (安良波明里)

The new and 22 years old Okinawan Meiri Alaha debuted with the energetic 21 Anthem earlier this year and has followed up with Party Time in August but it is with the new more mature "Crave" that it is obvious that her charisma covers the whole spectrum, and it is obvious from her style that she has been to the US.

Kpop: Primary (프라이머리)

There is no denying artist and music producer Primary is talented, but it has been a while since I heard a song that had the balance of rhythmic soulpop and hip hop (ie less of the latter), namely "See Through" back in 2012. This year has seen him releasing a steady stream of very slick and interesting videos, all with great guest artists making them musically vibrant, but it is the latest "Hello" with Lena Park as has struck closest to my heart.

Thai pop: Shimi Club (สโมสรชิมิ)

Shimi Club is a Thai idol group under Rsiam entertainment with rotating members. The new "Single lady" from the upcoming album "Single Club" is plenty fun, as expected of a Thai music video.

Kpop: Red Velvet (레드벨벳)

I didn't find Red Velvet's debut, with the controversial music video "Happiness" to be especially interesting, but the new "Dumb Dumb" reinforces the impression that they deliver visually interesting videos. You can watch this several times just for the eye feast it is. And again - what's it with this current Pippi fetish in kpop? !

Japanese rapper Dotama's videos are energetic and really enhances his music, a focused and almost hectic rap.

Mandopop/rock: Wu Bai (伍佰) & China Blue

Wu Bai and his band China Blue is a classic rock band, and one of my favorites from him is the song from the 1992 movie "Dust of Angels", but there are many more.

Jpop: Kanjani8 (関ジャニ∞)

The guys at Kanjani8 is a sympathetic japanese group that mixes all sorts of music, with nostalgic streaks of enka that is very much visible in their funny video "Candy my love", where they double the fun by appearing dressed as idol girls.
