Jpop: Yunomi (ゆのみ)

Yunomi is a young japanese music artist that makes really intensive but somehow charming electronic melodies. I'm guessing you eaither love it or leave it, but the videos is a must see if you are the least for japanese nerd culture.

Jpop: Dempagumi.inc - STAR☆TT Shichauze Harudashi ne

I have a really hard time decoding the meaning of the Japanese title of the new song from Dempagumi.inc, my best guest being "It's time for this darn spring to start!", but anyway, the video itself is a whopping 8:52 long but then the last four minutes is basically ending credits made fun by the girls. If you know them since before, this video delivers more of their nerdy, happy high-speed idol pop, and if you haven't; if you feel the least thirst for more they have a heap of even more nerdy songs and videos since before. Enjoy!

Jpop: FEMM - PoW!

Stylized due FEMM from Japan was my favorite Japanese act in their debut year 2014, with an extremely high output of high quality videos and all of them in english. Now they are back with the new "PoW!" and it continues in the same great fashion. This time the theme is comics, and I would say in an American setting from the lyrics and visual cues. The whole project of FEMM is obviously geared towards the international/American nerd scene and as such may feel a bit too obvious this time (pretentious) but in the end I love it for its quality of delivery.

Mandopop: Amber (安心亞)

From the start Amber has had a following Taiwan for doing lots of modelling (think Akibahara/Tokyo otaku style) but gradually her music career has taken off too. The new Welcome to the party has her showing of a little more maturer style.

Mandopop: Popu Lady - More (多多)

After a couple of unremarkable videos, from a musical persepctive, since I last wrote about the Taiwanese idol group Popu Lady, the new More is sufficiently interesting to give notice to. This is really mostly because of the extremely open and funny flirt with nerd culture, see for yourselves. Talk about classical dream-come-true for a true otaku. ;-)

Jpop: Dempagumi.inc - Chururi Chururira (ちゅるりちゅるりら)

Retro video games, nerdy japanese girls and wild colors all over, anyone? Then Dempagumi.inc's latest video "Chururi Chururira" (basically a noodle ad tie-in, actually) should make you faint from happiness. I must confess I got goose hairs at the end of the video when they killed the boss, haha. The inner otaku couldn't be held back, it seems...
