Mandopop: No Party For Cao Dong (草東沒有派對)

"No Party For Cao Dong" is a rock band from Taiwan that according to themselves drawa inspiration from grunge, disco beats and moderns sounds. I really like their first video anyway, it has both darkness and hope, a bittersweet song to enjoy.

Jpop: Saku

Guitar-indie girl Saku was slightly interesting with Zombie Morning last summer, but it is with the new "Fight Like A Girl" that the harmonies of she and her support band lifts to a level of really being worth noticing. I especially like the low key sounds and orchestrations that reminds me of the best of grunge with Saku's voice hovering over it.

Trash is a Taiwanese rockband with influenses both from britpop and American grunge.

Korean rock: MOOA (무아)

I really liked the vocals and sounds of korean rock band MOOA's "The Cure of Oblivion" from last year. It actually reminded me somehow of the good things with grunge music. The new "Sonic Boom" has the same sound, too.
