Kpop: Jay Park - Want It (원해)

OK, I can't let this go and that is just because (as some people would say) the sick beats. Jay Park is a great artist and just that intro is worth listening to the song. And then the slightly psycedelic end. This album has really been getting some love production-wise. I also like it when he taps into his crazy side with out going all cute-crazy G-Dragon "Crayon".

Kpop: G-Dragon - Coup D'etat

If Kara's latest "Damaged Lady" is a classic quality kpop example of polished mainstream kpop, G-Dragon returns with Coup D'etat to show what is undeniably the one kpop artist you must never miss a video of as they are like a mixture of crazy kpop rap, art installation and a Tarantino movie. Hell, noone the least interested in music videos should sit out on this!

Kpop: Lee Jung Hyun (이정현)

One could say actor and singer Lee Jung Hyun had a late (30 years old) musical breakthrough with her Suspicious Man in 2010, but with V she really charms me. If you have been following my blog you know I like these odd videos where the singer steps into strange situations, and for once I doesn't suffer through the "drama" parts of a music video. Yes, this song may not work that well audio only, but its a funfilled shownumber that's stands well on its own as a visual/audio combination.

Jpop: °C-ute

As there is a dozen "teenage kawaii girls dances in formation" to every other kind of jpop group I hesitate to blog about them until something special comes along. As °C-ute has matured their music, produced by Tsunku, has also matured, and more importantly become something that makes it worthwhile to listen to. Their new videos "Kanashika Amefuri" and "Adam to Eve no dilemma" are a good example of this. My impression they have actually managed to create is some kind of genuine feeling in the song that is not that usual in this genre.
